Stratford is the place where rock star Justin Bieber was born, grew up, and was “discovered”, busking on the steps of the Avon Theatre downtown.
If you’re a fan, you have to go to the Stratford Perth County Museum, which is home to one of the most iconic collections of Justin Bieber memorabilia in the world! Just inside the door to the exhibit, there’s a pair of Bieber’s autographed sneakers which look like regular skater shoes, but, closer inspection reveals they’re from the designer brand Dolce & Gabbana. Further down the hall are several of Bieber’s platinum plaques, and a keyboard and set of drums he played as a child growing up here.
There is also an archival video of Bieber busking as a kid, his jersey from the 2018 NBA All-Star celebrity basketball game, and a framed copy of his Rolling Stone cover, among many other items. His permanent exhibit is frequently being added to with more items since his recent marriage.
The Justin Bieber exhibit, Steps to Stardom, remains in place at the Stratford Perth Museum. The exhibit, which opened in February of 2018, will now be in place until at least the end of 2023.
The museum works closely with Bieber and his family members and continues to receive new items for the exhibit. Most recently Justin’s grandparents brought a number of very personal items from Justin and Hailey’s wedding to the museum. Those items are already on display.
A recent influx of items, including a high school basketball jersey and his MTV award, are among the new items in the Steps to Stardom exhibit for 2023.
The Bieber exhibit has been an overwhelming hit for the Stratford Perth County Museum with thousands of visitors coming to see the exhibit including Justin himself and Hayley. The majority of the items in the exhibit came from his grandparents who are regular visitors to the museum.
