Grand Opening of the Tom Patterson Theatre in Stratford
The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived !!!
The ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new Tom Patterson theatre was slated for May 10, at 10:30 am with the premiere production of Richard III being presented at 2pm. This, and All’s Well that Ends Well were the first performances that were present at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (now the Stratford Festival) back in the summer of 1953. It’s very fitting that these plays should be the first Shakespearean performances in this, the 70th anniversary of the Festival’s inauguration.
Did you know that the new theatre has been nominated for the Ontario Association of Architects’ People’s Choice Award ? – and Won!!
