Stratford Studio Tour  September 22nd and 23rd -  10am to 5pm 


Experience the studios and galleries of exceptional artisans on a 13 stop self-guided adventure in one of Ontario's most picturesque towns. 

This juried event features outstanding artists and crafts people exhibiting their work at a variety of venues and studios in Stratford’s historic downtown. You will meet painters, potters, sculptors, photographers, glass makers, wood workers, jewellers and more – a wide selection with something for everyone.

What a perfect way to spend the afternoon - or time between performances!

You will have the opportunity to purchase wonderful works of art, meet each artist and learn about the process behind each artwork, ask questions and place custom orders which will be made just for you. 

 Many artists studios, including the Torrie S Glass Studio is open daily until the end of October and during the winter months by appointment.    


Stratford Kiwanis Garlic Festival  September 8 and 9, 2018

The most flavourful fun you'll have in Stratford this September!  Just follow your nose to lots of local garlic, celebrity chef cooking demos, educational presentations and live entertainment. For a special treat, Dan Needles, from the Wingfield Farm stage plays fame, will be telling stories from his latest book, True Confessions from the Ninth Line. The event is held indoors at the Stratford Rotary Complex and there is lots of free parking. 



Rotary Dragon Boat Festival, September 15 

Stratford is preparing to welcome more than 1,000 paddlers to one of the most popular Dragon Boat Festivals in Ontario. Cheer on the 40+ competing teams and stay for the new 2000 metre race at the end of the day. Catch the entertainment and street eats and maybe a brew or two at the beer tent. Proceeds support the projects of the Rotary Club of Stratford.



Quilt Xtravaganza September 21and 22 in St Mary's 


Attracting International attention, St. Marys hosts this amazing curated fibre art and quilt show. For avid quilters there are learning sessions, demonstrations and an extensive merchant mall. If you just love beautiful things, come for the "Make it BIG, Make it small" quilt gallery. It's a short drive from Stratford and you can purchase one or two-day passes. Be sure to pop into Hyggelight Fabrics on Queen Street in St. Marys for an extra quilter's treat. 



      Stratford Symphony Orchestra Season Opener, September 15

 #DYK Stratford has it's own symphony orchestra? This attests to the rich cultural experiences you can enjoy in Stratford. Opening it's 14th season is Stratford-based flautist, Liesel Deppe. Performances take place at the Avondale Concert Auditorium.



Frank N. Furter's Rocky Horror Show Guide to Stratford (not for the easily offended)

The Guide invites you to explore Stratford through Dr. Frank N. Furter’s eyes as you get the look, get the drink, and then you play.

He’ll lead you to the best rocky cocktails and where to find the sexiest bustiers, fishnets, and tattoos before you create the mood for more party fun. There’s even a safe adventure travel kit for Brad and Janet, the wholesome, newly-engaged couple who end up staying overnight at Dr. Frank N. Furter’s castle.  

Visitors are invited to use the guide in preparation for seeing The Rocky Horror Show, or just for fun to explore another side of Stratford.

It's Tee Time - Come play with us !


Extend your Stratford visit with a round or two of golf rewarding yourself with scenic vistas along the Avon and Thames Rivers and maybe even a hole-in-one. Golf courses are prepped - two in Stratford and four others within a 20-minute drive. We'll challenge the proficient golfer, and point the newly initiated to less demanding courses.  More golf fore you!


Art in the Park

The Stratford Art in the Park Association celebrates its 50th season starting May 19, 2018. The group presents an outdoor juried fine art /craft show and sale along the banks of the Avon River between the Festival Theatre and Tom Patterson Theatre.  Meet the artists in this idyllic setting along the tree lined riverside every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting / 10 am to 5 p.m.) throughout the Summer and into the Fall.

Guided Tours - Nature, Heritage, and Ghosts!

Avon Trail volunteers invite you to explore portions of the trail on Tuesday Morning Rambles starting at 9 am. Meet the group at the Wm Allman Arena along Lakeside Drive at Morenz ready to explore a section of the natural world along this 110 km trail. 

Want to learn more about Stratford's past? Join enthusiastic guides who share the stories of our heritage on daily walking tours throughout July and August. Stroll along the banks of the Avon or downtown architectural route starting at 10:30 am, plus afternoon tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Purchase tickets the day of the tour at the Visitors Information Centre on York Street  

On Friday evenings as night falls, costumed guides lead you through Stratford's dark and haunted past, still seen and felt in the lingering summer twilight. Reserve your Ghost Walk tickets on-line in advance or take your chances just before the 8:00pm tours begin at Edison's, 46 Ontario Street. Presented by Playmakers! Theatre School.


Free Open Air Music Concerts  

Free outdoor concerts in Upper Queen's Park on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.

Barge Music by Stratford Summer Music beside the Boathouse at lunchtime daily 

Castle Concerts,  Thursday evenings at Castle Kilbride, just a 20-minute drive to Baden 

Bring your camp chair and enjoy the tunes. 



The Tour Boat, which runs every half hour, is a great way to spend the afternoon. Enjoy a relaxing ride on the River and discover why this has been a tradition for many years and will be for many more to come.
